BACKGROUND
Graduating Cum Laude, Mimi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California Baptist University, where her education included faith integration across all subjects as well as courses in theology.
Continuing her education at the same university, Mimi earned her Master of Science degree in counseling psychology–a marriage and family therapy clinical graduate program, where her education and training emphasized the integration of faith and counseling psychology. Her experience included not only the academic knowledge and application of marriage and family therapy and counseling psychology but also of faith-based principles in therapy. During her internship, she gained extensive hands-on experience at a Christian nonprofit, serving students in various Christian private schools under the guidance of seasoned supervisors and learning to walk alongside all clients with a Christlike heart. Drawing from this background and her personal Christian faith, Mimi enjoys aligning her practice with biblical principles to help clients grow spiritually and emotionally.
Specializing in expressive arts therapy (a multimodal approach incorporating expressive art forms within therapy, such as visual art, music, poetry/creative writing, body movement/dance, nature, play, etc.), Mimi continues to develop her specialized knowledge and application through her clinical post-master’s certificate program in expressive arts therapy.
