Fees & Insurance

Payment Information

Flourish Christian Counseling is a “fee for service practice.” Payment arrangements are to be made before each session. Clients are required to keep a credit card on file to be used by our billing team for deductibles, copays/coinsurance, and applicable late-cancellation/no-show fees.

In-Network Insurance

We are in network with these insurance companies. This means we will submit claims to them after each session. Based on the information they provide to Flourish, our billing team will charge any deductibles, copays, or coinsurances to the card on file.

    • Aetna
    • Anthem Blue Cross
    • Blue Shield of CA Non-Commercial Plans (FEP, CalPERS)
    • Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BCBS) of other states
    • IEHP (Covered CA and Medi-Cal)
    • Medicare Part B
    • Tricare (West, Select, Prime)
    • TriWest VA Community Care Network (CCN)

To check your benefits ahead of time, we recommend that you contact your member services and ask these specific questions:

    • Is Flourish Family Counseling, Inc., (NPI 1598382988) in my network?
    • Is there a carve-out for mental health services; if so, is Flourish in that company’s network?
    • Does my deductible apply to mental health benefits; if so, what is my annual deductible?
    • What is my copay/coinsurance for outpatient psychotherapy sessions? (And is it different for in-person or telehealth?)

Out-of-Network Insurance

Flourish is also an approved out-of-network provider with Blue Shield of CA, Carelon, and United Healthcare (Optum). If you have a PPO plan, we can submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. However, they will be processed based on your out-of-network benefits. To check your benefits ahead of time, we recommend that you contact your member services and ask these specific questions:

    • Does my plan have out-of-network benefits for mental health outpatient psychotherapy?
    • What is my out-of-network deductible for mental health benefits?
    • Once my deductible is met, what is my copay/coinsurance for outpatient psychotherapy sessions? (And is it different for in-person or telehealth?)

Private Pay and Other Insurances

For all other patients, payment is due after each session. Our billing team will charge the fee to your card on file:

    • $260 Comprehensive Initial Assessment (first appointment)
    • $220 Individual/Couples Sessions (all other appointments)
    • Limited discounts are available based on need

Once the session fee is charged to your card on file, we will send you a “Superbill” which you can submit to your other insurance company for potential reimbursement. (Contact your member services ahead of time to ask for terms of benefits.)

Cancellation/No-Show Policy

If you need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you reach out directly to your provider with at least 24 hours notice. Late cancellations and no-shows are subject to a $75 fee.
